Critz Affirms Support For Obama

Keith Rothfus  | Thu, Sep 27, 2012

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Pittsburgh, PA - Incumbent Congressman Mark Critz (D-Johnstown) and challenger Keith Rothfus squared off for the first time this election at a candidate forum hosted by the Westmoreland County Chamber of Commerce this morning.  Congressman Critz officially announced his support of President Obama for reelection when asked who he supported for President, answering, “I’m supporting the Democratic ticket.”  Keith Rothfus responded:

“President Obama promised to cut the deficit in half, but we’ve had four straight years of trillion dollar deficits.  He said if we passed his stimulus bill unemployment would not reach 8%, but it’s been above 8% ever since.  He said he wouldn’t raise taxes on those making below $200,000, but he’s put in place one of the largest tax increases on the middle class in American history.  It is utterly unconscionable that a representative from Southwestern Pennsylvania would support this man for a second term, especially when unemployment in his home county of Cambria is an unacceptable 9.3%.  But just like President Obama, Congressman Critz has been known to say one thing and do another.  Both of their campaigns are based purely on distracting from their failed record in order to save their political careers.  But the people of Southwest PA are tired of career politicians, tired of political games, and tired of this Obama/Critz ticket of failure.”
