FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Pittsburgh, PA - The non-partisan senior citizen group the 60 Plus Association has announced Pennsylvania 12th Congressional District challenger, Keith Rothfus, has received the group’s Honorary Guardian of Seniors’ Rights award.  Legendary entertainer Pat Boone made the announcement, “I’m still singing at concerts, but today I’m singing the praises of Keith Rothfus.  Seniors can depend on Keith.”

Chairman and Founder Jim Martin was personally on hand to present the award to Rothfus, stating, “Keith Rothfus can be counted on to preserve Social Security and Medicare.  He’ll work to protect the pocket books of senior citizens and end the wasteful spending of our tax dollars… Seniors have to live within their means and so should government.”

“I am honored to receive this award that reflects my dedication to fighting to save and preserve Social Security and Medicare,” Rothfus said.  “Since day one of my campaign I have been talking about the need for us to repeal Obamacare and restore the cuts it has made to Medicare so that we will be able to keep the promises we’ve made to our seniors.  I am 100% pro-life, and I will not stand by while this administration guts such an important program.  I thank the 60 Plus Association for recognizing that dedication and I will work hard to embody this award as I fight for the issues that matter most to our seniors.”

Chairman Jim Martin concluded, “Keith Rothfus is a man of principle, and one of those rare public servants who backs up his words with action.”

The Association’s Guardian Award is presented to Democrats and Republicans base on their “senior friendly” voting records.  The honorary award is given to those running for office and is based on their views on issues of importance to seniors.

"A wise and frugal Government, which shall restrain men from injuring one another, which shall leave them otherwise free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned. This is the sum of good government."
