U.S. House: Keith Rothfus Unseats Mark Critz

WTAE

Republican Keith Rothfus has thwarted a re-election bid by Democratic U.S. Rep. Mark Critz on Tuesday.

Rothfus (51 percent) led Critz (49 percent), with 97 percent of all precincts reporting. The Associated Press called Rothfus the winner.

Rothfus, of Sewickley, got a strong campaign push from Republicans who wanted a win in the newly reshaped 12th District to build on their majority in Congress.

Critz beat Jason Altmire in the April primary to decide which sitting House Democrat would lose his seat and which would run in the redrawn district in November.

"A wise and frugal Government, which shall restrain men from injuring one another, which shall leave them otherwise free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned. This is the sum of good government."
